Wolfe
From 1993 'til 1998, Todd was the featured Lead Guitar player as well as occasional song writing partner for A & M's multiple Grammy winner, Sheryl Crow. Crow, one of the world's most acclaimed artists, and her spirited band featuring Wolfe, romped around the world several times having toured with the Rolling Stones, the Eagles, Bob Dylan, Joe Cocker, Page & Plant among others.
In 1996, Wolfe, Eric Massimino and Crow band mate Scott Bryan founded A & M Record's MOJOSON, a modern blend of psychedelic Rock and Blues. Since the Universal takeover of the Polygram group which left new A & M acts like Mojoson in limbo, Todd elected to leave the label and dissolve Mojoson, putting his energies into The Todd Wolfe Blues Project, which was born during the downtime from Sheryl Crow tours. They are an edgy, adventurous, boundary pushing trio who mix original material with Howlin' Wolf, Buddy Guy, Otis Rush and Robert Johnson chestnuts. Todd's blues project consist of such luminaries as Eric Massimino (the Fireants)on bass, Paul Unsworth (Peter Karp's Roadshow) on drums and most recently, Steve Pozzelanti on drums and are occaissionaly joined by Mike Lattrell (Popa Chubby) on keyboards.
Between the touring and recording committments, Wolfe has played consistent dates on both coasts with his tight combo The Todd Wolfe Blues Project. He has shared the bill with the like of Albert Collins, Johnny Winter, Son Seals, The Allman Brothers, Blues Traveler, Robin Trower, the Black Crowes and The Neville Brothers to name a few. Wolfe and the project, who had hosted the renowned blues jam at New York's premier blues club, Manny's Carwash, for several years before its closing, recorded their well received, "Live from Manny's Carwash" CD.
Todd's favorite color is merlot, enjoys nude mule rides and his favorite food is banana teriyake pizza.
Joining Todd Wolfe and the Tornadoes in the late 80's, this former Westport, Connecticut resident is the solid bass player for the Todd Wolfe Blues Project. His energy alone is worth the price of admission. When not touring, Eric has been retreating to his home in NYC for the past 10 years. Eric has recorded with many artists, including Mojoson and the Fireants, which he co-founded.
Eric's favorite color is a lighter shade of black, enjoys sleeping nude with his V bass and can't resist eating raw meat.
As an infant, Dave's relentless beating on his mom's sofa through his toddler years not only started to drive the family mad but created an unhealthy, polluted atmosphere in the home due to the constant dust cloud. Dave's parents had no choice but to buy him a set of drums...louder yes, but easier to breathe! It wasn't long before Dave was winning music awards at school by participating in Jazz Band, Dixieland Band & The Symphonic Orchestra.
Being an 'Overseas Brat' landed Dave in Munich, Germany where he cut his teeth performing live in Rock, Jazz, Blues & Fusion bands which has helped in developing a vast & wide drumming vocabulary.
Dave's musical influences are varied as well, Frank Zappa, Led Zeppelin, Muddy Waters, Tony Williams, Buddy Rich and even the great composer, Stravinsky, have played a part in Dave's development as a musician.
After moving back to the States in 1984 Dave played with various bands in and around the live scene in Washington D.C. before eventually moving to the Bethlehem area recently where he was snatched up quickly by Todd, for drum duties in Todd Wolfe's Blues Project. "I saw Dave playing with a local blues band and found his approach to be heavier and more varied than the average blues drummer so I asked him to sit in with us and the rest they say...is history!"
A very soulful Hammond player from Pennsylvania, Karl has played with many regional acts over the years, notably The Horizontals, Craig Thatcher Band, Mike Gouldin & Rollin' & Tumblin' and The Mighty Manatees. His groovin' sound is known throughout Eastern Pennsylvania. Karl played organ in church at a very early age until his dismissal after jamming the keys of the church organ with peanut butter! Karl started sitting in with Wolfe the past couple of years and has become a part of Wolfe's sound, whenever space will allow ... no, he's not large but that damn Hammond is!
Karl's favorite color is "Skippy Tan" ... He enjoys outdoor picnics and naturally love's bringing along large quantities of peanut butter & Nutella sandwiches!
John Cree is a versatile musician who recently started sitting in with Wolfe.
John plays an assortment of percussion instruments, guitar and sings as well. When not performing with Wolfe, John is the lead singer, percussionist, and rhythm guitarist in "CREE", an acoustic rock act that comes from the Lehigh Valley, in Pennsylvania. John has built quite a reputation in Eastern Pennsylvania as a performer and songwriter for Cree. He spent time in several bands from the area, most notably The Kelly Murphy Band and Drive Time.
Recently John attended a Wolfe show and after the first set approached Todd and asked to sit in the next set and ... it seems to have gone well as, you can see John at most Wolfe shows!
John's favorite color is turquoise ... he enjoys hunting buffalo on the plains whilst wearing a skimpy loin cloth and ... naturally enjoys buffalo burgers by the campfire!
