Linwood Taylor Band

Linwood Taylor Band

Linwood Lee Taylor's stinging staccato electric guitar style attracts wide attention. His Hendrix flair blends with a Texas swing to create a dynamic, energetic blues experience. Taylor's influences also include Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Luther Allison, Johnny Copeland, Freddy King, Albert King, and Albert Collins. Not many blues artists can say they've recorded with H.R. of the Bad Brains as well as performed with Albert Collins, but Taylor can. This talented bluesman also plays a bare-bones acoustic guitar at venues in Washington, DC; Virginia; and Maryland.

The Linwood Taylor Band has performed throughout the East Coast and at such international events as the San Remos Blues Festival, Italy, and the National Blues Competition, Memphis, as well as at numerous other festivals. The band recently won the "Battle of the Bands" and played at the Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival, which also featured Shemekia Copeland, James Cotton, John Lee Hooker, Jonny Lang, and Koko Taylor, among others. The Linwood Taylor Band appeals to a broad audience and has opened for Rock and Rock Hall of Fame Diva Etta James and the legendary Johnny Winter. Taylor has self-produced two releases, Live at Colonial Seafood and Take This & Stay Out of Trouble. A third will be out soon.
