Bubba and the Big Bad Blues

BubbaBlueCafe.jpg

Bubba and the Big Bad Blues is a four piece blues band from Southern California and have been rocking the club scene there for over 10+ years. With influences like Freddy King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Cray, Robin Trower and The Meters, Bubba’s powerful vocals, impressive guitar work and a veteran rhythm section forge an electrifying hybrid blend of smoking Texas blues with a little bit of New Orleans R&B funk thrown in.

Bubba's long awaited debut self titled album speaks for itself. Produced by Bubba, recorded and mixed at Lawn Mower and Garden Supply Studio (formerly owned by the late Kevin Gilbert of Toy Matinee and the location of Sheryl Crow's "Tuesday night music club") by drummer/producer Nick D'Virjilio (Spock's Beard, Tears for Fears and Genesis) the album attempts to capture the synergy and connection that exists between the band when they are live on stage. It does a pretty good job too, but nothing compares to seeing and hearing them live!

Bubba and the Big Bad Blues started as a 3 piece band in 1992 with Bubba on lead guitar and vocals, Shawn Nourse on drums and a bass player. Since then, they have played just about every blues club in So Cal (and many that don’t exist anymore, see the club list).
